Are Your Foods Working Against You?

Have you ever wondered why your body seems to resist healing, no matter what you try? That’s exactly what I was facing recently with a minor skin challenge that just wasn’t clearing up.

During my visit with my chiropractor, who is also trained in Nutrition Response Testing, he discovered something surprising: I “popped” for egg yolk and poultry.

What does that mean? In Nutrition Response Testing, when a food “pops,” it means your body isn’t handling it well. Instead of nourishing you, it’s putting stress on your system and interfering with healing.

For me, that meant that my go-to foods — eggs and chicken — were now acting like roadblocks. My heart sank because I eat them all the time!

So do I have to stop eating them forever?
Not at all. In most cases, the solution is a 90-day fast from the problem foods. This gives the body time to reset. After the break, those foods can often be reintroduced without problems.

Why do food sensitivities develop?

  • We often become sensitive to foods we eat daily.

  • A high overall toxic load can push the body into a reactive state.

  • Sometimes the very foods we crave most are the ones our bodies struggle with.

That’s why it’s wise to vary your diet, eat seasonally and locally, and make detox a regular part of your routine.

Is it inconvenient to take a break from eggs and poultry?
Yes. But the payoff is worth it — removing the stressor allows my body to heal.

I’ll keep you updated on how this experiment goes. If you’ve ever struggled with mysterious symptoms, it might be worth exploring whether your favorite foods are part of the problem.
